About Silver Dog Music

Silver Dog Music is an independent live music agency founded in 2007 by Helen and Matt, bringing together experience in event planning and the music industry.

Nearly 20 years later, we’re still doing things in much the same way — carefully choosing the bands we work with, getting to know what our clients really want and staying involved from the first enquiry right through to the event itself.

A more personal way to book live music

We don’t simply introduce you to a band, arrange the booking and then disappear.

From your first enquiry right through to the event itself, we stay involved — helping with timings, working through itineraries, liaising directly with the musicians and dealing with the practical details that help everything run smoothly.

For our clients, that means there’s always someone to come back to as plans develop. For our bands, it means they receive clear information about the event, timings and everything they need for the day.

It’s a hands-on way of working that’s been at the heart of Silver Dog Music since the beginning.

Our story

Over the years, we’ve arranged live music for hundreds of events — from weddings, private parties and celebrations to major corporate events, live television and large-scale productions. Our musicians have performed throughout the UK, across Europe and as far afield as Egypt, and we’ve worked with private clients, household-name companies, broadcasters, sporting organisations and event producers.

Some of the most interesting jobs have been the unusual ones. Over the years we’ve been asked to source everything from large show bands and international artists to very specialist musicians. One client came to us looking for a particular style of Flamenco from a specific region of Spain; another project involved bringing musicians into Barclays to work with members of staff, culminating in them performing live in front of an audience of 1,000.

For more complex events, we can go further — bringing in additional teams on the ground, coordinating musicians and helping manage the practical details needed to bring the music together.

After nearly 20 years, we still enjoy the same challenge: understanding what a client is trying to create and finding the right musicians — and the right way — to make it happen.

Meet the team

Helen

Event Director

Helen leads the day-to-day running of Silver Dog Music. From helping clients find the right entertainment to planning more complex events, she oversees bookings from the first enquiry through to the event itself — coordinating musicians, timings, itineraries and all the details along the way.

Matt

Music & Technical Director

Matt has spent his working life in music. After signing a record deal with BMG early in his career, he went on to build a career as a professional vocalist. At Silver Dog, he helps select the bands we work with and brings invaluable practical knowledge to the technical side of events — from sound and production requirements to venue logistics.

Georgina

Contracts & Booking Manager

Georgina keeps the practical side of Silver Dog’s bookings running smoothly. She manages contracts and invoicing, tracks events as they progress and makes sure all the essential details are in place. Having been part of Silver Dog from the beginning, her experience and attention to detail are invaluable behind the scenes.
