What is the price of the average wedding band?

The cost of the wedding bands varies considerably but as a rough guide, the average price is currently £2000-£3000 and can increase to £10k +. If you get in touch with us to let us know your budget, we can send you some options for you.

What is included in the price when receiving a quote for a wedding band?

Typically, the wedding bands play 2 hours of live music, split into either 2 x 60 or 3 x 40 minute sets of live music. They come fully self c0ntained with their own PA systems and often, disco lighting. They usually provide an unmanned DJ service as part of their package with many wedding bands offering manned DJ service for extra fees.

How far in advance should I book a wedding band?

It is strongly advised to book a wedding band at least 12 months in advance. Our bands are extremely popular and many brides and grooms choose to reserve their chosen act well in advance!

Will our wedding band learn and perform our first dance?

Our wedding bands are more than happy to learn and perform your first dance, often this comes as part of the package. The chosen song is often only possible if the band play instruments that are played by the band themselves. For example, a wedding band comprising vocal, guitar, bass & drums will not be able to do justice to a dance track with lots of string instruments.

What type of songs do your wedding bands perform?

We have a huge variety of bands playing rock, pop, soul, jazz, swing, Motown and more. Many of the bands play a really good mix of styles, intended to please different tastes and age groups.

Can I choose every song that a wedding band plays on the night?

It is not advisable to choose every song that a wedding band performs on the night. There is definitely a knack on how songs flow into each other to increase audience participation. However, input into there repertoire is more than welcome to guide the wedding band on your tastes.

Can your wedding bands perform with a sound limiter in place?

Some venues install devices that limit the sound a band can make. This can be restrictive for certain bands but we do represent wedding bands that are more than happy to work with one. Please get in touch with us to find out more.

Will I get help with setting an itinerary for the band?

Silver Dog Music is more than just an agent who brokers a contract then leaves! We are committed to you from the initial booking right you to your wedding day. We help with establishing an itinerary of the night (when the band plays), song choices and logistics.

Do the wedding bands have Public Liability Insurance and PAT Testing certificates?

Wedding venues often require the bands to provide Public Liability and PAT testing certificates in advance and we can provide these upon request.

Are your wedding bands based throughout the UK?

Our bands are based throughout the UK and most will throughout the country. Quotes include travel and if required bands may ask for overnight accommodation over a certain distance. We can provide clients with a list of bands local to you to cut down on travelling costs upon request.

Can I watch the wedding bands perform live before booking?

Our wedding bands specialise in private events and understandably there is no public access. However, all our bands have videos on their band profiles.

Which part of the wedding day do bands perform?

You can hire our acts for all parts of your wedding day. We have bands that  can perform during the drinks reception, ceremony and evening party.

Do the bands require us to provide them with anything on the day?

Our bands request that clients provide them with a hot meal/buffet, complementary soft drinks and free parking for their vehicles. If possible a room should be provided for them to store their belongings get changed and rest during intervals.
